Tara Smith

Police have canceled the Amber Alert for four-week-old Tara L. Smith.  Police report that the child has been located in Cedar Hill, Texas.  She is healthy and in good condition.  

Original Alert information:

On Sunday, May 15 about 9 o'clock in the morning, four-week-old Tara L. Smith was picked up by Karin P. Finley from 1255 W. Pleasant Run Rd. in Lancaster, Texas.  Ms. Finley was to babysit the infant while the child's father was at work.  Ms. Finley was to return the child on Monday, May 16 at 6 p.m.  Ms. Finley failed to do so.  The father then contacted Ms. Finley by phone.  It was agreed that she would meet him at a neighborhood 7-11 store in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas.  The father waited at the store for two hours but Ms. Finley failed to bring the child to the meeting point.  The father has had no further contact with Ms. Finley.  Tara Smith was last seen wearing a pink and white "one-sy" infant outfit.  She weighs 9 pounds and is 21 inches long.  Tara is African-American and has brown eyes.  Ms. Finley may be driving a gray 2005 Chevrolet Aveo or Cobalt four-door, license plate unknown.  Ms. Finley may also be driving a 2005 Kia Spectra four-door with Texas license plate Z75TGC.  Anyone with information about the child or Ms. Finley, is asked to contact the Lancaster Police Department or local police.
